Job summary

LOC Software in Laval, Canada is seeking a QA Analyst/Software Tester to join our hardware-focused testing team. This on-site role supports testing of POS peripherals, firmware, and drivers and ensures seamless integration with our retail platform.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in QA, a QA degree (Bac or Master), experience testing devices like PIN pads, printers, scanners, and a track record in clear documentation. Remote work is limited to special circumstances.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience as a QA Analyst or Software Tester.
• Familiarity with testing and configuring devices such as PIN Pads, printers, FastLane Self Checkout, scanners and scales.
• Proven experience in documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot peripheral drivers and firmware for POS hardware.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and end-to-end testing of POS peripherals.
• Validate hardware communication using multiple interfaces (USB, Serial, Ethernet, Bluetooth, HID, OPOS, JavaPOS, Windows Native APIs).
• Create and maintain installation guides, user guides, troubleshooting guides, and hardware setup documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot peripheral drivers, firmware, and middleware and verify compatibility across different Windows versions and POS software releases
• Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and end-to-end testing of POS peripherals
• Validate hardware communication using multiple interfaces (USB, Serial, Ethernet, Bluetooth, HID, OPOS, JavaPOS, Windows Native APIs,..)
• Create and maintain installation guides, user guides, troubleshooting guides, and hardware setup documentation

Work Environment

This is primarily an on-site, hardware-focused role. The successful candidate will be expected to work from the office to support hardware testing, lab maintenance, and peripheral integration. Remote work may be approved by the manager only in special circumstances.
