A local printing firm in Winnipeg is searching for enthusiastic Press Operators to join their production team. Job description

Press Operators run our production floor. You’re on the auto, printing to the approved sample, keeping the day on schedule, and finding better ways to do the work. Experience running an automatic press is the bar for this one.

We print for Winnipeg’s best bands, brands, businesses and events out of the Exchange District. It’s a spot-colour operation on good equipment: a ROQ P10 and a Douthitt CTS. You’d be joining while we’re still building the shop we want to be, which is the interesting part.

What the job looks like

• Running the press. That’s the bulk of it.
• Overseeing the production schedule and keeping jobs moving.
• Improving and developing how we do things. This one matters as much as the printing.
• Pitching in across production. Small company, everybody wears a few hats.

It’s full-time. Our production team works Tuesday to Friday, 8AM to 6PM, so it’s a four day week.

• Experience running an automatic press. For this role it’s a requirement, not a nice to have.
• Strong communication and a positive attitude is critical!
• Comfortable with computers, technology, and ‘the cloud’.
• Attention to Detail & Critical Thinking are major key.
• An interest in Continuous Improvement. We are a Lean facility, and we love Kaizen.
• A ‘learn-it-all’ attitude. Every member of a small team wears many hats.

Never run an auto before? Our Production Assistant role is the entry level of our production team. Start there and we’ll teach you the rest.
