School District 5 Southeast Kootenay seeks a Science Teacher for grades 9 and 11–12 at Elkford Secondary School. This 1.0 FTE full-time temporary position runs from September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027, with on-site duties required.

Applicants must hold a degree or formal training and/or teaching experience in Science at the secondary level. Preference will be given to candidates with BC Teacher Certification and relevant classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Must have degree/training and/or teaching experience in Science at the secondary level.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science to grades 9, 11-12 on-site at Elkford Secondary School.
• Deliver engaging lessons and assessments in line with the district curriculum.

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary

Science Teacher - Grades 9, 11-12

1.0 FTE temporary contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25, 2027, or return of the incumbent.

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience in Science at the Secondary level.

This position is scheduled to include Science 9, Science for Citizens 11, Life Sciences 11, Environmental Science 11, Environmental Science 12 and Psychology 12. Please note that all work will be on site.
