Job summary

Qualicum School District invites applications for a School Psychologist (1.00 FTE continuing). Commencing January 1, 2027 or possibly sooner, the successful candidate will assess referred students and contribute to educational planning within the district.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in school/educational psychology or related field with a focus on school psychology.
  • Registration in the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (CPBC), with special training in school psychology.
  • Coursework, training and ability to administer and interpret individual intelligence and curriculum-based tests.
  • Experience working in the education system, with knowledge of instruction and assessment.
  • Experience developing effective recommendations to assist teachers and parents in working with students who experience challenges in the school setting.

TEACHING POSITION
Assignment: School Psychologist

The assignment may change due to the itinerant nature of the position, or to meet the needs of the school's educational program, grade organization, and/or enrolment.

1.00 FTE CONTINUING

Commencing January 1, 2027 or possibly sooner.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Use valid psycho-educational, formal and informal, assessment methods for assessing referred students;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current, effective assessment measures;

$63,347-$116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement. An annual salary allowance based on FTE up to $8,000.
