Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canada is seeking a Facility Maintenance professional to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in busy school environments. You will work with the operations team and may operate independently, using CMMS to manage work orders.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting building systems, sourcing tools, and ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. The role offers a standard Mon-Fri schedule with potential after-hours coverage and union-based benefits.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in a Facility Maintenance environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of building systems and maintenance fundamentals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Physically able to perform maintenance tasks (climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Receive, update, and complete assigned preventative and demand maintenance work orders in the CMMS QFM.
• Respond to and rectify tasks in general facility services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
• Source, plan, and organize tools and materials for daily tasks and projects.
• Maintain inventory levels for assigned sites.
• Use building prints and schematics to troubleshoot system failures.
• Operate a variety of hand tools and machines.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
