Job summary

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board invites applications for a Social Worker to join the multidisciplinary team serving students and families. Reporting to the Principal and Mental Health Lead, the role includes assessments, plan implementation, and collaboration with community partners to support youth.

Required qualifications include a Master of Social Work and active registration in good standing, plus at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work and registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience preferably in a community or educational setting.
• Extensive knowledge of theories, principles and practices of social work.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and policies such as Regulated Health Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, Education Act, Child Welfare Act, Social Work and Social Service Work Act and MFIPPA.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments, including case plans, provide support for plan implementation, and communicate results and recommendations to the system or in-school team to provide service to youth and their families, on an individual or group basis.
• Work and liaise with system leaders, in-school teams and community partners to develop service plans/programs to meet the needs of students.
• Deliver tiers 1, 2, and 3 supports to school communities, utilizing clinical expertise and leadership skills to design, implement and support mental health awareness and literacy programming in partnership with the Mental Health Lead.
• Assist the Mental Health Lead in selecting and implementing mental health promotion and prevention strategies.
