Job summary

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) is seeking a Temporary Social Worker to join a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, planning and support to students and families. You will liaise with community agencies, deliver crisis intervention, maintain casenotes and complete assessments.

Reporting to the School Principal and Mental Health Lead, you will develop plans, implement tiered supports, and collaborate to promote mental health within schools while upholding

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work degree and registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in a community or educational setting.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and acts (Education Act, MFIPPA, Health-related acts).
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary setting with youth intervention strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• ASIST or other suicide intervention/training is preferred.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments including case plans and communicate results to the school team.
• Collaborate with system leaders, in-school teams and community partners to develop service plans.
• Deliver Tier 1–3 supports to school communities and contribute to mental health programming.
• Assist in selecting and implementing mental health promotion strategies.
