Job summary

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka in Beeton is seeking an Assistant Teacher - School Age for the Monsignor Ronan YMCA Before & After School Program. You will support children with personal care, supervise activities, and deliver play-based learning in a safe, inclusive environment.

This part-time role runs weekdays with early morning and late-afternoon shifts. You will work with families and staff to ensure a positive learning experience and comply with program policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• First Aid and CPR Level C certification (or within 90 days of hire).
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Up-to-date immunizations as per health guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to children, including toileting/diapering and first aid when needed.
• Supervise groups of up to 15 children and ensure safety at all times.
• Plan and implement play-based learning following YMCA Curriculum.
• Maintain positive communication with families, staff and volunteers.
• Create an inclusive environment supporting diverse needs.
• Adhere to schedule within ratio guidelines and notify supervisor of changes.
• Demonstrate flexibility with routines and perform other duties as assigned.
