Job summary

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is hiring a School Age Early Childhood Educator to support our Child and Family Development team in Tay Shores. You will provide personal care, plan play-based learning, and maintain safety and positive communication with families in a group setting of up to 15 children.

This part-time role requires first aid/CPR, a Vulnerable Sector Check, immunizations, and eligibility for CECE registration or active enrolment in an ECE program; strong interpersonal skills and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current Standard/Intermediate First Aid and CPR (Level C) or completion within 90 days of employment.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Up-to-date immunizations or equivalent in accordance with local public health and Child Care Early Years Act

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to children and monitor safety.
• Engage with children and supervise up to 15 in a group setting.
• Plan and implement play-based learning.
• Maintain positive communication with families and staff.
• Support inclusive environments for diverse needs.
• Adhere to schedule and ensure program stays within ratio; provide notice for scheduling changes.
• Demonstrate flexibility with routines and schedules.
• Other duties as assigned
