At Mobile Eyes Optometry, our mission is to provide quality eye care and glasses to those who are not able to get into a traditional office setting. With our portable equipment, we are able to provide comprehensive eye exams and glasses to those who have mobility challenges and are not able to leave their home. We currently service over 60 different long term care homes throughout the Greater Vancouver area.

Mobile Eyes Optometry is made up of a small team of professionals. We provide on-the-job training and work in a relaxed atmosphere. We always strive to be the best we can be and constantly look for ways to improve. We are always open to employee ideas, feedback, and suggestions.

The Position

Mobile Eyes Optometry is seeking a highly motivated individual for the part-time position of Scheduling Coordinator (approximately 20-30 hours/week). As the Scheduling Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate with care homes, patients, and the Mobile Eyes Optometry team to schedule eye clinics and special visits
  • Contact patients and family members to get approval for appointments and billing information
  • Manage referrals that we send out to specialists, and referrals from other healthcare professionals to Mobile Eyes Optometry
  • Input new patient forms into our electronic system and update patient information and medical records
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails

The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, detail oriented, hardworking, and open to learning with a good attitude. This position requires working with a team of professionals that have an interest in providing the best eye care to patients who would normally not be able to access otherwise. We'd also love to hear from you if:

  • You have excellent documentation, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook
  • You are able to multi-task and prioritize work
  • You are able to handle last minute changes to your work and are a good problem solver
  • You have good customer service skills and are able to handle and communicate effectively with challenging clients
  • You are able to work independently as part of a larger team
  • You have the ability to maintain confidential information and strong attention to safeguard company computer systems while using them

Other Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree
  • You have at least one year of experience in customer service and/or in an administrative role
  • Prior experience working in a medical office is an asset but not required
  • Flexible work schedule with the option to work remotely once a week
  • Up to three weeks of vacation and flexible vacation scheduling
  • All statutory holidays off and company-wide office closure every last week in December
  • A health spending account

  • A rewarding experience helping others get eye care who are not normally able to do so
