Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Windsor, Ontario, is hiring a Scale Clerk to document weights and deliver exceptional customer service. You will operate the scale system, record weights, greet customers and keep precise records in a fast-paced setting.

The position runs Monday–Friday, with Saturday OT available. Starting pay is CAD 26.25/hr plus overtime after 44 hours, with vacation, benefits, RRSP matching, and an tuition scholarship program up to CAD 8,500 per eligible dependent.

Qualifications

• Experience as a scale house operator or strong customer service setting
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Proficient computer skills and experience with scale software and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Operate the scale system to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing metal materials
• Record weights and relevant information in the computer system or on paper records
• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions, weights, material types, and customer information
• Verify the identification and documentation of drivers, carriers, and vehicles while issuing receipts, and processing payments accurately
• Provide general administrative support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining filing systems
