IPEX is seeking a Saw Operator for our Mississauga production team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. You will set up and operate cutting saws to accurately cut pipe according to customer specifications, on-site at 6810 Invader Crescent.

The 12-hour Continental Day shift runs 7:30am–7:30pm, with bi-weekly rotation. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and efficiency; you will perform inspections, maintain 5S housekeeping, document production activities, and support manufacturing processes

This role plays an important part in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and workplace safety.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Saw Operator is responsible for operating and setting up cutting equipment to accurately cut pipe according to customer and production specifications. Manufacturing | On-site | Full-time | Fixed-Term Location: 6810 Invader Crescent, Mississauga, ON L5T 2B6 (View on google maps) Work Schedule: 12-hour Continental Day shift (7:30am – 7:30pm; 7 shifts bi-weekly) Salary: $24.96/hour

What You’ll Do

Set up and operate cutting saws in accordance with established production requirements and specifications. Cut pipe products accurately to meet quality and dimensional standards. Plan and organize work assignments to maximize efficiency and productivity. Perform routine quality inspections and verify product conformance. Manage regrind materials, including proper sorting and control procedures. Maintain housekeeping standards and support 5S initiatives within the work area. Complete production and administrative documentation as required. Follow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Support other production functions and departmental activities as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow work instructions, procedures, and quality requirements. Strong attention to detail and product quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating industrial cutting equipment or saws. Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment. Experience with material handling and production processes.

Working Conditions

This position is based primarily in a manufacturing environment and requires a significant amount of physical activity throughout the shift. The incumbent will spend most of their time standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling materials and finished products. The role involves working around production equipment, including cutting saws and other machinery, while maintaining strict adherence to established safety procedures. Employees may be exposed to conditions commonly found in a manufacturing setting, including noise, dust, heat, moving equipment, and sharp cutting tools. The position requires sustained attention to quality, safety, and operational processes while managing changing production priorities and workflow demands. A commitment to housekeeping, 5S practices, and compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies is essential for success in this role.
