Job summary

Aegis Industrial Finishing is hiring a Sandblasting Assistant/General Laborer in Canada. The role focuses on supporting production, prepping parts, and assisting with sand blasting and shipment tasks in a hands-on shop environment.

You will receive comprehensive training, exposure to multiple processes, and opportunities to advance within the company as you learn new coatings and production techniques.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing in English is required.
• Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Engages in problem-solving rather than naming problems.
• Effective time management in a production setting.
• Detail-oriented with ability to follow a process to completion.
• Forklift experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished goods for safe transportation.
• Address racking and staging challenges for clean goods.
• Inspect pieces for proper cleanliness before blasting.
• Prepare parts for blasting per work instructions.
• Assist Lead Sand Blaster with transport of goods in the shop.
• Perform sand blasting as required.
• Assist Shipper with loading and unloading delivery trucks.
• Operate orbital sanders, air guns and related tools safely.
• Communicate openly to keep production flowing.
• Attend production huddles, safety meetings and training.
• Support other duties on the shop floor as required.

About the Position

• This position requires attention to detail, understanding of production flow, and willingness to learn and follow proper techniques.
• The successful candidate will be provided with the necessary training.

Duties

• Carefully package finished goods for safe transportation.
• Solve unique racking and staging challenges of clean customer goods for production.
• Inspect pieces for proper cleanliness before blasting.
• Prepare parts for blasting as per work instructions.
• Assist the Lead Sand Blaster with the transport of goods through the shop.
• Sand Blasting as required.
• Assist Shipper with loading and unloading delivery trucks as required.
• Safe and effective use of orbital sanders, air guns, and other production-related tools.
• Open communication to keep production flowing.
• Attend and contribute to production huddles, safety meetings, and training as required.
• Assist with other duties on the shop floor as required.

Qualifications

• Capable of reading and writing in English.
• Able to safely lift up to 50lbs.
• Actively engage in problem-solving, not problem-naming.
• Effective at time management.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow a process to completion.
• Prior forklift experience is an asset.
