Job summary

ADF Group in Terrebonne, QC is seeking a skilled blast and surface-prep technician to ensure proper preparation of equipment and steel surfaces for coatings on major projects.

You will operate sandblasting gear, read blueprints, and follow SSPC/AMPP/NACE standards, while working with cranes and forklifts. Bilingual French/English is an asset; a team player with attention to detail is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational diploma required.
• Experience and knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of SSPC standards.
• Experience in sandblasting, grinding or surface preparation (asset).
• Overhead crane competency card (asset).
• Spoken and written languages: French and English (asset).
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Teamwork and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all equipment required to complete the job is on hand in accordance with project requirements.
• Adjust pressure and equipment as required.
• Check initial condition of steel surfaces and record on job sheet.
• Perform solvent cleaning as per SSPC-SP1
• Perform abrasive blasting using hoses and nozzles, in accordance with SSPC, AMPP, NACE and/or all other certified standards;
• Follow and complete the route sheet and call the inspector when an inspection point is identified;
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts according to safety standards;
• Notify foreman of any problem situation, defect or fault when rework is required or non-conformance has been identified;
• Ensure that the identification of all products supplied by customers is maintained/protected throughout operations;
• Any other related tasks.

Job description

• Monday to Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Evening Shift (Monday to Thursday)

• Monday to Thursday, from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Hourly wage ranging from $24.50/hour to $34.49/hour and Evening shift premium of $1.75/hour.

Contributing in this role means :

• Ensure that all equipment required to complete the job is on hand in accordance with project requirements;
