What is a Salesperson?

An entry-level sales position supporting the DIY business, aiming to meet sales and service objectives. The role requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive and parts knowledge, and the ability to source from various suppliers. Familiarity with store inventory and maintenance processes is essential. This position can be part-time or full-time. Fleet safety certification is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service for DIY customers in-store and over the phone.
• Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to the store’s overall sales targets.
• Assist with DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installation.
• Maintain store product and operational standards.
• Manage inventory processes including truck put-away, cycle counts, and back stock.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Ensure store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, and parking lot.
• Perform stocking duties, including truck and back stock.
• Deliver parts to customers safely as needed.

Success Factors

• Basic driving skills and navigation ability.
• Proficiency with delivery and inventory systems.

• Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• Experience operating inventory systems, store equipment, POS, and parts lookup systems.

Prior Experience

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods, communicate effectively, and handle or feel objects. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception.

The work environment is primarily indoor, with occasional outdoor tasks in various weather conditions, and exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and noise levels typical of retail environments.
