Job Summary

The Sales Coordinator is an inside sales professional passionate about selling the sports and recreational experience with a competitive advantage. They are responsible for uncovering additional surface sales and booking opportunities through managing contracts, rentals, programs, tournaments, parties, and events.

This role supports the sales and community outreach process, from promoting the complex’s offerings to maintaining ongoing customer communication.

Accountabilities
Business Goals, Planning, and Work Management

Sales & Revenue Development

  • Support adherence to Canlan’s mission, policies, and priorities.
  • Manage systems related to contracts, rentals, programs, and tournaments.
  • Develop and promote public programs and manage equipment rentals.
  • Create new tournament and rental opportunities, including non-traditional rentals.
  • Maintain and grow existing contracts and surface sales, including birthday parties and corporate events.
  • Manage ice flow and contracts, ensuring all are signed and payments are managed.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and assist in developing sales strategies.
Team Development and Customer Relationships

Ensure customers experience excellent service and build ongoing relationships to maximize revenue and sustainability.

Decision Making and Results
  • Assist in managing contracts and accounts receivable.
  • Provide performance reports and strategic recommendations.
  • Support relationships with league and program departments to meet complex goals.
Abilities and Experience
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, marketing, or recreation preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in sports/recreation environment is an asset.
  • Proven sales experience, especially in inside sales.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, social media, and database management.
  • Ability to work independently, in teams, and flexible hours including weekends.
