SALES COORDINATOR
Courtyard & Residence Inn by Marriott, Calgary South
The Sales Coordinator will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining quality group accounts. A self-starter who is adept at making cold calls and nurturing existing key accounts to maximize profitability, the Sales Coordinator will be integral to developing and managing revenues. Success in this role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment where results, recognition, and rewards are interconnected.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist & collaborate with the Director of Sales & Business Development Manager on daily tasks.
- Establish active communication with the hotel operations team for successful service delivery.
- Arrange creation and distribution of supporting documents and presentations to generate business leads.
- Maintain organized sales records and report on month-end goal setting as required.
- Conduct hotel site tours with potential clients.
- Answer telephone inquiries pleasantly.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients via phone and email, responding to questions and requests.
- Prepare sales documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders.
- Interact with clients regarding leads, hotel needs, and travel.
- Travel within Calgary for sales and off-site events.
- Produce room sales through prospecting, networking, site inspections, client meetings, and building relationships.
- Maintain existing client relationships.
- Provide sales reports as required.
- Keep accurate sales activity logs in the company's database.
- Conduct competitive analysis and maintain updated competitor files.
- Participate in site inspections, trade shows, sales trips, hosted events, and community initiatives.
- Coordinate co-op advertising and marketing with partners.
- Build and maintain partner relationships.
- Organize and conduct professional site visits showcasing our hotel and offerings.
- Know the strategic sales plan, negotiate group rates, and meet hotel goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Business Development Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Required:
- Minimum two years of sales or customer relations experience in a similar setting.
- Diploma/degree in a related field is an asset.
- Knowledge of Salesforce and FOSSE PMS is an asset but not required.
Mission Critical Competencies:
- Positive attitude with a sense of humor.
- Team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with property management systems is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, calmness, and professionalism.
Desired Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset.
