About The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager for the GCA, Southern Alberta Ready Mix Division, the Sales Coordinator will have the opportunity to work with our Area Sales Team in understanding our ready mix business. This is a developmental role and an opportunity to learn & utilize the various sales systems & tools to gain experience into our markets, customers, & products with the ultimate goal of building a long-term career with Lafarge.

This opportunity is part of Lafarge’s New Graduate Development Path (NGDP). As part of the NGDP two-year journey, new graduates are provided with opportunities to connect with other new grads, gain exposure to various aspects of the Lafarge business, and embark on their own learning and development journey through e-learning and scheduled monthly Learning & Development sessions. The NGDP provides a head start for recently graduated individuals entering the workforce while fostering a strong sense of community within Lafarge.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Serve as a role model in safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
  • Learn the aggregates sales function including customers, products, markets, logistics.
  • Produce & enter sales quotes into SalesForce.
  • Utilize sales tools like Qlikview for sales reporting to support commercial business.
  • Investigate initiatives around new markets & products.
  • Project investigation & follow-up.
  • Assist the sales team in customer discussions & other functions.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly meetings reviewing sales opportunities.
  • Carry out jobsite inspections for safety & quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Recently obtained University Degree or College Diploma

Additional Education Preferred: N/A

Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering, Business, or related field.

Required Work Experience: Up to 2 years of construction industry experience.

Required Training/Certifications: N/A

Required Technical Skills: Experience with SalesForce, Apex, and SAP is an asset.

Travel Requirements: 0-10%

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
