Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the vehicle purchase journey. The Sales Consultant will be responsible for understanding customer needs, recommending appropriate vehicle solutions, presenting product features and benefits, facilitating test drives, and guiding customers through the sales process from initial contact through delivery. The successful candidate will build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, proactively follow up with prospective and existing customers, and consistently work toward achieving individual and team sales objectives. This role requires strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and negotiation skills, along with a commitment to delivering a professional and transparent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and engage customers in a professional, courteous, and customer-focused manner.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customers’ preferences, requirements, and budget.
  • Present and demonstrate vehicle features, benefits, technology, and available options.
  • Coordinate and facilitate vehicle test drives while ensuring a safe and professional experience.
  • Prepare accurate vehicle quotes, purchase proposals, and related sales documentation.
  • Explain financing, leasing, warranty, protection products, and other available options in coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information, activities, and follow-up schedules within the dealership CRM system.
  • Proactively follow up with internet, showroom, telephone, referral, and existing customer leads.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to maximize opportunities and achieve sales targets.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Collaborate effectively with Finance, Service, Parts, Delivery, and other dealership departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Ensure all customer documentation and sales paperwork is accurate, complete, and compliant with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming showroom environment.
  • Participate in dealership promotions, community initiatives, product launches, and special events to support brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Stay current on product knowledge, industry developments, manufacturer programs, incentives, and competitive offerings.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed established individual and team sales objectives while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience in automotive sales, retail sales, customer service, or a related sales environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong active-listening abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professional presence, and a positive, customer-first attitude.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customers and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable using CRM platforms, dealership software, computer applications, and other digital sales tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Omvic Certified.
  • Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record are preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on customer appointments and dealership operating requirements.
