Job summary

Alberta Hardwood Flooring in Edmonton, AB is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Consultant to help homeowners, designers and builders choose flooring solutions. You will greet customers, understand needs and guide them through quotes, measurements and the sale.

The ideal candidate is sales-driven, confident, organized and a strong communicator who thrives in a showroom setting. Starting base salary is 60,000 per year with potential to earn 80,000 to 100,000+ based on performance, with ongoing

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales, flooring, furniture, cabinetry, interior design, home improvement, building products, or another consultative sales environment.
• Willing to learn the flooring industry.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide knowledgeable, professional service in showroom.
• Build relationships with customers and understand their flooring needs, preferences, and budget.
• Recommend flooring products based on style, performance, lifestyle, and project requirements.
• Prepare estimates and quotations, including on site measurements/visits.
• Follow up with customers and manage sales opportunities from initial inquiry through to closing.
• Develop strong product knowledge across hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, and related flooring products.
• Maintain organized customer records and follow up on outstanding opportunities.
• Work with installers, suppliers, designers, builders, and internal team members to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Maintain an attractive, organized showroom.
• Meet individual and company sales goals.
• Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional Retail Sales Consultant to join our team.

The Opportunity

This is a customer-focused sales position for someone who enjoys working with people and has a natural ability to build relationships and guide customers through a purchasing decision.

You will work with homeowners, designers, builders, and other clients to understand their needs, recommend appropriate flooring products, prepare quotes, and help bring the sale through to completion.

However, we are willing to consider someone with strong sales ability and the right personality who is motivated to learn the flooring industry.
