Job summary

CFMWS is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver daily retail services to CAF members in a on-site store. You will operate Point of Sale systems, handle cash, assist customers with product information, stock shelves, and ensure pricing and signage are accurate.

You may also prepare food and beverages and maintain a clean service area. Fluency in English and French is required, with a strong customer focus and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
• Food Handling Certification, as required
• Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Province), as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide retail services to CAF members and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems and handle cash transactions.
• Respond to customer inquiries with information on merchandising and promotions.
• Maintain shelves: stocked, faced, and properly signed with accurate pricing.
• May take and prepare food and beverage orders; maintain cleanliness of service areas.

THE ROLE

As a Sales Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You may provide a variety of services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self‑serve gas services, postal services, and assisting CAF members with credit plan applications. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine and maintain a float.

The Sales Associate responds to enquiries from customers providing them with information on merchandising and ensuring the store shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

• An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
• Food Handling Certification, as required
• Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Province), as required
