Job summary

Staples Canada in Richmond Hill is seeking an Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies, and help achieve store goals. You will support merchandising, signage, and safety policies while maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of retail experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Drive sales in the furniture, technology and supplies areas of the store.
• Set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.
• Ensure operational excellence and uphold store brand standards.
• Support all merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.
• Engage with and sell to customers using selling tools to anticipate needs.
• Handle transactions at POS and assist with shipping and marketing tools.
• De-escalate complex customer situations and refer to a manager when needed.
• Keep the store clean and presentable by dusting, facing products, and ensuring demos are functional.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
