Job summary

Staples Canada in Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a retail associate to deliver outstanding customer service and boost sales across furniture, technology, and supplies. You will work with store leaders to meet sales and margin goals while upholding brand standards and safety policies.

Responsibilities include processing POS transactions, assisting customers, maintaining store appearance, and supporting merchandising and signage. Team collaboration and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• De-escalate complex customer situations and refer to a manager when needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment and ensure demo units are functional.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
