Job Description

As Safety Officer, you are responsible for conducting safety investigations related to incidents within your area of responsibility and documenting these in the safety database, following the Quality Safety Action Program (QSAP). You will conduct investigations under the supervision of the Director, Flight Safety.

Main responsibilities:
  • Support the Corporate Quality and Safety Policy and promote it within your functional area.
  • Master the content of the Quality Safety Management System (QSMS) Policies and Procedures Manual, especially those related to your role.
  • Participate in all Flight Safety Department meetings and the monthly Quality and Safety Management Committee (QSMC) meetings.
  • Receive and analyze safety reports, including data entry, incident investigation, risk assessment, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions.
  • Follow up with employees reporting safety or security incidents, including results of analyses and actions taken.
  • Ensure communication between the Safety Department and employees within your area.
  • Prepare and distribute safety information bulletins to employees in your area.
  • Assist the Director, Flight Safety as needed.
Qualifications:
  • College or University Diploma or equivalent in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • AME license is an asset.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, oral and written.
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, AIMS, safety database.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Autonomous and analytical.
Additional Information:

*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will need to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders across Quebec, Canada, and internationally.
