Job description

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

We are looking to hire a Safety Equipment Coordinator based out of our Grande Prairie branch.

This role is responsible for managing the PPE program for all operational divisions and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations are maintained and followed with respect to PPE along with general administrative support to the Supply Chain Management department.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper availability of PPE and safety equipment for branch locations and field sites.
  • Track PPE usage and maintain accurate inventory of equipment in accordance with the documented procedures.
  • Create and input purchase orders to the applicable software system.
  • Complete pick-up and delivery of PPE as required.
  • In partnership with the HSE department, determine preferred PPE vendors and equipment selection.
  • Negotiate service agreements with vendors to ensure cost efficiencies for PPE.
  • In partnership with the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) department, schedule and track preventative maintenance and calibrations of PPE.
  • Ensure the maintenance records for the PPE are accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements to stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency and implement correction actions as required.
  • Assist in the development of a PPE budget by providing input relative to policy, usage costs, depreciation, and other established metrics.
  • Perform periodic auditing of the PPE management system to determine that it is working appropriately. As part of these audits, travel to the various branch locations may be required.
  • Assist in the creation of guidance documents regarding the management and distribution of PPE and in communicating this process to relevant stakeholders.
  • Remove non-conforming PPE from service and dispose of it in a manner that prevents any unintended reuse.
  • Complete hazard identification and assessment on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist with the completion of incident reports and incident associated costs.
  • Maintain organization and safety within the shop environment.
  • Complete special projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Related University degree, post-secondary certificate, college diploma, and/or trade certification and typically 3 or more years of related experience; or combination of formal education and experience.
  • Working towards professional designation that is aligned to Supply Chain Management.
  • Health & Safety courses related to PPE and its maintenance an asset.
  • Working experience in the Oil & Gas industry preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of time sensitive tasks.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning skills.
  • Attentive to detail with the ability to prioritize daily tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative when working alone.
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Suite.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Legislation and safety best practices an asset.
  • Available to work Monday-Friday with the occasional weekend as required.
