Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Markham, ON is seeking an experienced RTL/IC design engineer to contribute to I/O protocol development and chiplet interconnect technologies for future processors and GPUs.

You will collaborate with DFT, firmware and verification teams across multi-clock domains to deliver high-performance, low-latency IP blocks while optimizing for area and power. The role offers strong growth and access to cutting-edge AMD technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience with I/O protocols such as USB, PCIe and CXL.
• RTL micro-architecture development for modules.
• RTL design with multi-clock, high frequency designs, low latency, high performance.
• Debugging and post-silicon bring-up.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.
• Cross-functional collaboration with DFT, Firmware, Verification, Emulation.
• Prefer experience in design with multiple clock domains.
• Synthesis, CDC analysis, STA, area/power optimizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop micro-architecture for modules and IP blocks.
• RTL design, verification and optimization for performance and power.
• Collaborate with DFT, Implementation, Verification, Firmware and Emulation teams.
• Document architectures, designs and runbooks; present findings to peers and leadership.
