Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or AZ) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or completion of an accredited truck driving program.
  • Experience supervising commercial drivers in a waste environment.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with company standards.
  • Strong attendance and flexibility for early starts and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of all drivers, including training, discipline and procedure implementation.
  • Assist with and monitor annual equipment budget within approved limits.
  • Liaise between dispatch and drivers to relay daily schedules, equipment needs, and service requirements.
  • Conduct driver training to address habits and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Perform driver reviews and document discipline when required.
  • Approve driver vacation requests and ensure policy and training delivery.
  • Investigate accidents involving company vehicles and drive cost-effective service resolution.

They will ensure compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related haulage.

Requirements
  • Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or AZ) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.

  • Driving Experience: Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).

  • Supervisory Experience: Managed commercial drivers in a waste environment.

  • Equipment Operation : Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.

  • Safety Commitment : Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.

  • Reliability : Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training Requirements:, discipline and procedural implementation.
  • Assist with and recommend annual equipment budget; implement and monitor the budget within approved limits.
  • Act as a direct liaison between dispatch and drivers to ensure information regarding daily schedules, equipment and service Requirements: is efficiently relayed.
  • Ongoing “sit-in” driver training to assess any poor driving habits, road- rage, excessive braking, possibly fuel cost savings, etc.
  • Conduct regular driver reviews.
  • Tracking of ongoing service/driver issues and documenting any discipline required.
  • Organizing and approving driver vacation requests.
  • Ensure company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all drivers.
  • Perform Accident Investigations when company vehicles are involved in traffic accidents.
  • Resolve all internal service issues in a cost effective and expeditious manner; all customer service issues to be reported internally in a timely, organized manner with details on how the issue(s) will be resolved.
