Job summary

AltaGas is seeking a Millwright/Heavy-Duty Mechanic to support mechanical maintenance at the RIPET Facility in Prince Rupert, BC. The role focuses on rotating equipment maintenance, repairs, and reliability initiatives, reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator.

The position is full-time with a Monday-Thursday four 10-hour days schedule. Candidates must have Red Seal Journeyman Millwright or Heavy‑Duty Mechanic certification and 5+ years industry experience.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Millwright or Heavy-Duty Mechanic certification.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance in industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical systems.
• Experience with Maximo and maintenance planning.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, and repair site mechanical equipment (compressors, pumps, piping, motors, etc.).
• Utilize Maximo Maintenance software to full capabilities.
• Coordinate suppliers and service providers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance at the RIPET Facility.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Support procurement in purchasing maintenance parts and equipment.
• Complete maintenance tasks daily and troubleshoot plant issues.
• Maintain focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
• Install instrument tubing and small diameter pressure piping.
• Assist other trades as required.
• Communicate technical needs with Operations.
