Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Roll Off Driver to join our St. John’s, NFLD team. You will operate Roll Off trucks on multi-family residential and commercial routes, collecting waste and recyclables according to routes and transferring loads to stations or landfills.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, interact with customers, and follow safety protocols while meeting route schedules. Applicants must have a Class 3 license and driving experience, with background checks required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class 3 license and be able to operate manual transmission.
• Minimum of one year commercial truck driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.
• Successful candidates will undergo a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Drive Roll-Off trucks along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and ensure secure loading.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections; file a vehicle condition report after shift.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public; report issues to supervisor.
• Follow safety standards and company rules for all vehicle operations.
