Job summary

CIMA+’s Municipal & Transportation Design team has a proven track record delivering transportation projects across Ontario. The Lead Engineer - Roadway Design will oversee roadway components on major assignments, guiding teams from concept through detailed design while coordinating with drainage, utilities, and municipal services.

You will lead design on highways, interchanges, and intersections, with responsibility for reports, drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or immediately eligible.
• Minimum 15+ years of roadway/highway design experience.
• Proven experience with MTO and/or municipal clients.
• Strong knowledge of highway engineering standards and guidelines.
• Experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, or OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in preliminary and detailed design.
• Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control reviews on plans and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct initial site inspections and support constructability reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and internal project teams.
• Support business development including client relationship management and proposal development.
