Job summary

CIMA+ in Canada seeks a Lead Engineer - Roadway Design to guide major transportation projects from preliminary through detailed design. You will lead civil roadway components on freeways, urban and rural highways, interchanges, and intersections with multidisciplinary coordination across Mississauga, Toronto, Markham and Bowman offices.

The role requires a P.Eng., 15+ years of roadway design experience, and strong CAD skills in Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, or OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or immediately eligible.
• Minimum 15+ years of roadway/highway design experience.
• Proven experience with MTO and municipal clients.
• Strong knowledge of highway engineering standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Detailed design experience on complex projects and CAD tool proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in both preliminary and detailed design.
• Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control reviews on plans, profiles, and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct site inspections and support constructability reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
• Maintain relationships with clients, agencies, and internal project teams.
• Support business development including client relationships, proposals, and major project pursuits.
• Stay current with evolving CAD and roadway design tools and standards.
