Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a senior Transportation Engineer to lead roadway design for major projects and act as the engineering lead on MTO and municipal assignments. You will prepare technical reports, review drawings, and mentor junior staff across Ontario.

The role requires strong CAD skills (Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads), excellent communication, and a minimum 10 years of highway design experience. Office base options include Mississauga, Toronto, Markham, and Bowmanville.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or immediately eligible.
• Minimum 10 years of roadway/highway design experience.
• Proven experience with MTO and/or municipal clients and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in both preliminary and detailed design.
• Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control reviews on plans, profiles, and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct initial site inspections and support constructability reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and internal project teams.
• Stay current with evolving CAD and roadway design tools and standards.
