Job summary

Franklin Gardens in Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and oversee the delivery of high-quality, person- and family-centered care. You will coordinate assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration while upholding dignity, safety, and PHIPA compliance.

The role requires Ontario RN licensure (CNO) with CPR/BLS, strong documentation, and the ability to supervise PSWs and support staff. Starting wage is $36.06/hour.

Qualifications

• Current General Class registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
• CPR/BLS certification and licensure in good standing.
• Experience with interRAI assessments and care planning.
• Strong documentation practices and PHIPA familiarity.
• Ability to supervise PSWs and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and update care plans with resident and team.
• Maintain clinical documentation and assessments (including interRAI).
• Liaise with physicians, pharmacy, and families to coordinate services.
• Follow CNO standards and ensure safe delegation and high-quality documentation.
• Protect privacy and PHIPA compliance in all records.
• Safely administer medications and treatments per policy.
• Identify and report medication incidents and contribute to learning.
• Support clinical programs and interventions per Home policy.
• Coordinate home area operations and shift communication.
• Direct and evaluate PSWs and support RPN practice with coaching.
• Contribute to performance discussions and a respectful workplace.
• Model IPAC practices and infection control.
• Provide culturally safe communication and respect resident preferences.
• Adhere to OH&S requirements and reporting procedures.
• Respond to resident/family concerns and support service recovery.
• Advocate for Residents' Bill of Rights.
• Engage in quality improvement and accreditation readiness.
• Participate in fire safety and emergency drills.
• Other duties as assigned.
