Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to enhance the quality of nursing practice in our community care setting in Canada. The RN will ensure care aligns with physician orders and policies, while assisting in assessments and care planning.

The role involves supervising nursing staff, evaluating performance, and providing leadership in absence of the Director of Care. Excellent communication and team collaboration are essential for delivering compassionate resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the province
• Registered or eligible for registration with the province's professional body
• Experience in community or long-term care setting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative problem-solving with a big-picture view

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient care adheres to nursing standards, physicians' orders, and policies
• Assess and monitor residents, developing and evaluating care plans
• Supervise nursing and personal care staff, including orientations
• Monitor performance and refer issues to the Director of Care
• Provide leadership to nursing staff in the absence of the Director of Care
