Job summary

Alberta Health Services offers the Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program (GNTPP) for new nursing graduates to start their careers with structured orientation and mentorship at the Sturgeon Community Hospital in Edmonton Zone.

The program spans 12 months in two phases: enhanced orientation with a Clinical Guide and transition to independent practice with ongoing mentoring, with consideration for placement in a similar unit after Phase 1.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families and communities.
• Use nursing processes, critical thinking and decision making to ensure safety and well-being.
• Teach, counsel and advocate for patients and families; lead in holistic patient care.
