Reporting to the Studio CG Supervisor, the Rigging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Rigging Department and working with the Studio CG Supervisor to drive pipeline development. The Rigging Supervisor will support show Supervisors, provide mentorship for Rigging Department resources, and ensure quality standards are met.

This role will require multiple days in the office per week.

In this role you will:

1. Supervise the development of the rigging pipeline for film and TV productions, identifying targets/goals to accomplish the desired results.
2. Oversee the successful build of all rigs for each production.
3. Supervise the development of proprietary tools, plugins, and scripts used in CG production.
4. Evaluate and recommend relevant external plugins/scripts.
5. Review rigging-related production schedules and materials with Lead Rigging Artists.
6. Communicate regularly with key stakeholders and team members to share relevant information, strategies, and decisions.
7. Oversee all technical requirements of specific productions, working with producers, directors, and department supervisors to determine needs.
8. Evaluate issues in rigging and weighting of creatures, mentoring Rigging Artists in finding solutions.
9. Implement and maintain methods for rigging, modeling geometry, and weighting that meet production standards.
10. Manage department resources efficiently across productions to meet needs.
11. Coordinate with Lead FX Artists and Lead Rigging Artists to meet department needs.
12. Assist in recruiting when necessary, based on production schedules and budgets.

Need to have:

1. 6+ years of production experience.
2. Prior experience managing large teams in a supervisory role.
3. Thorough understanding of geometry creation, weighting, skeleton rigging, and simulations.
4. Clear understanding of character rigging methodologies and automation processes for animation rigging.
5. Anatomical knowledge.
6. Ability to work within budget and schedule constraints.
7. Strong problem-solving skills with a deductive methodology.

1. Degree and/or diploma in fine arts, animation, or equivalent experience.
2. Advanced degree in Computing Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines.
