Job summary

Johnson Electric Group in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Rigging Millwright to support machinery relocations, installations, and plant projects onsite. You will rig and move heavy equipment, align and maintain systems, and ensure safety and efficiency on the shop floor.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of rigging millwright experience and a high school diploma or GED. Certifications in hoisting, forklift, or overhead crane are a plus. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a rigger or rigging millwright in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment, lifting devices, and heavy machinery movement.
  • Ability to read rigging plans and follow work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute machinery moves throughout the facility.
  • Inspect and prepare loads for safe transportation and installation.
  • Set, align, and level heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Select and prepare appropriate rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, bolts, and lifting devices.
  • Inspect rigging systems before and after use to ensure safe operation.
  • Monitor, maintain, and properly store rigging equipment.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment to maneuver loads safely.
  • Support equipment installations, relocations, and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety requirements and rigging procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance, rigging, construction, and operations teams during projects.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and operational efficiency.
