Job summary

Building Supply Depot in Edmonton, AB is seeking a self-motivated Retail Shelf Stocker with strong interpersonal skills to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will stock shelves, assist customers, maintain inventory, price items, and operate a cash register and computer for e-commerce tasks. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs and long hours, with shifts including day, evening, weekend, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Bag, box, or parcel customer purchases for shipment or delivery.

• Unpack received products and count/weight/sort items.
• Maintain computerized stock inventory and order inventory.
• Keep stock clean and orderly; price items per price list.
• Operate cash register and conduct electronic transactions.

• The candidate will be expected to bag, box, or parcel customer purchases for shipment or delivery.
• The candidate will be responsible for transporting customer purchases to the parking lot and packing orders into customers’ vehicles.
• The candidate will be required to obtain items from a shelf or stockroom for customers.
• The candidate will be expected to direct customers to the location of the desired articles.
• The candidate must unpack products received from the store and count, weigh, or sort items.
• The candidate must maintain a computerised stock inventory.
• The candidate will be expected to order inventory.
• The candidate will be expected to keep track of incoming stock.
• The candidate will be responsible for stocking shelves and displaying items.
• The candidate will be expected to keep stock clean and orderly.
• The candidate will be expected to price items using a stamp or sticker in accordance with the price list.
• The candidate will be required to attach protective devices to products to prevent shoplifting.
• The candidate will be expected to carry out general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors)
• The candidate must be able to use a computer to conduct electronic commerce transactions.
