Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Canada is seeking a permanent full-time associate to support daily retail operations, assist customers and donors, and process donations.

You will greet donors, sort and price items, manage cash and debit transactions, and help maintain store displays while upholding safety and OH&S standards. Flexible schedule with weekdays and Saturdays is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of some high school course work.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Few months of experience in processing or distribution of goods or customer service.
• Cash handling experience is required.
• Experience with cash registers and related processes (bank deposits, reports) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers/donors in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Process cash and debit sales accurately with minimal errors.
• Sort, price, and display donations; assist with stock rotation.
• Maintain store layout, displays and overall tidiness to attract customers.
• Assist with inventory control and donation turnover; respond to customer inquiries.
• Adhere to store policies regarding payments, refunds, and holds.
• Observe safety and OH&S rules and ensure a safe environment.
