Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is hiring a Store Associate at our Ottawa, ON location. You will welcome customers and donors, process transactions, and help maintain an organized and inviting thrift store environment.

This permanent full-time role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and flexibility for evenings and weekends. Training and support are provided as part of our mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Completion of some high school course work.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Willingness to develop an understanding and support for The Salvation Army's mission and purpose.
• Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and The Salvation Army health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers/donors in a positive, courteous manner.
• Process customer transactions accurately with cash and debit.
• Maintain attractive store presentation and pricing as per policy.
• Assist with stock, donations, and turnover to meet sales targets.
• Ensure store safety and cleanliness and respond to inquiries.
