Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapy - 1 position

Location: Respiratory Therapy, Parkwood Institute Main - London, ON

Type: Casual Part Time

Salary Range: $38.35 - $53.28 /hour

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist at Parkwood Hospital provides support across four clinical programs: Rehabilitation, Specialized Geriatrics, Complex Care, and Veterans Care. The role involves caring for patients requiring assisted ventilation, managing tracheotomies, and other respiratory care issues. You should be able to work independently and share your expertise in caring for patients with chronic respiratory illnesses. Availability for on-call and extended hours is required based on patient needs.

Essential Qualifications

• Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Healthcare Setting in compliance with the OHSA
• Valid registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
• Valid BCLS Certification
• Skilled in current Respiratory Therapy techniques
• Demonstrated skill in respiratory assessment and patient education
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in French (asset)
• Current registration with the Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario, Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists, or Ontario Respiratory Care Society
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience
• Experience in respiratory diagnostics (e.g., pulmonary function testing)
• Certified Respiratory Educator
