Key Responsibilities:
  1. Function as a clinical consultant, delivering extensive respiratory care practices throughout the hospital.
  2. Provide all aspects of invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
  3. Monitor and manage patients with artificial airways.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Critical Care, Women & Children's & NICU Unit, Emergency/Trauma, and general care areas.
Qualifications:
  • A blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and independent work habits.
  • Graduation from a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • CRT credential with requirement to acquire RRT credential within 6 months.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Minimum: Graduate of CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy Program; clinical rotations with all age groups.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of acute care hospital clinical experience; Bachelor's degree from an advanced education program.
Training and Skills:
  • Minimum: Age-specific training in at least two age populations; basic computer, assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, arterial puncture, mechanical ventilation, critical thinking skills.
  • Preferred: Advanced assessment and therapeutic skills, ventilator management, intubation skills across all age populations.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Required: NH RCP License, RRT or CRT credential (with RRT within 6 months), AHA BLS, NRP within 90 days.
  • Preferred: ACLS, PALS.
