Job summary

FirstService Residential in Victoria, BC is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance in vacant and occupied apartments, including minor plumbing, drywall, electrical, painting, and cleaning tasks. The ideal candidate will think quickly, manage time well, and solve problems effectively.

This role does not involve any work requiring a licensed technician or handling hazardous materials.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintaining building and mechanical systems.
• Two years of residential Maintenance/Trades experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Building Manager and Property Manager to discuss operations and repair needs.
• Complete maintenance request forms within 24 hours of receipt.
• Ensure Maintenance Checklist is completed for each apartment.
• Replace interior and exterior light bulbs and maintain daily log.
• Turnover: paint and clean units as needed.
• Maintain logs and records for units and maintenance.
• Organize and manage overall maintenance programs for the property.
• Obtain and compare vendor quotes for required work.
• Be diplomatic with residents, staff, and contractors.
