Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking Residential Drivers in Canada to operate heavy collection equipment, perform safety inspections, and ensure efficient curbside waste and recycling collection. You’ll follow route schedules, maintain logs, and adhere to safety standards.

Qualifications

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or above in Ontario) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or completion of an accredited truck driving school program.
Ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
Strong attendance and flexibility for early starts and OT when required.
Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Safety inspections: perform pre-trip and post-trip checks and maintain logs.
Curbside collection: collect residential waste and recycling per route schedules.
System operations: operate hydraulic and compaction systems safely.
Reporting & maintenance: report mechanical issues and hazards to management.
Service quality: maintain productivity, customer service, and vehicle cleanliness.
Regulatory compliance: follow traffic laws, bylaws, and PPE standards.
Team collaboration: work with Helpers and Supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Additional duties as assigned by leadership.
