Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Brampton, Canada, is seeking Residential Drivers to operate heavy collection equipment and perform daily safety inspections on residential routes.

You will ensure curbside collection of waste and recycling follows strict safety protocols and route schedules. The role requires a DZ or higher license with a clean driving record, at least 1 year of experience or completion of a truck driving program, and a strong reliability mindset for early morning shifts and potential

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or higher) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).
• Ability to safely operate heavy collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
• Strong attendance record and flexibility for early morning start schedules and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an Automated Side-Load (ASL) or Rear Pack collection truck along assigned residential routes.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs.
• Collect residential waste and recycling per route schedules and corporate safety protocols.
• Operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
• Promptly report mechanical issues, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
• Maintain high route productivity, customer service, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Adhere to traffic laws, bylaws, safety policies, and PPE standards.
• Collaborate with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors to support smooth daily operations.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.
