Job summary

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) is seeking a Residential Care Aide for Takla to support Elders and community members with daily living activities in a culturally safe setting. This part-time role focuses on maintaining dignity, independence, and connection to cultural practices within the community.

You will work in a remote Takla community, bringing compassionate care and resilience to residents while upholding CSFS’s commitments to self-determination and holistic wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services such as hygiene, dressing and grooming, showering and mobility assistance.
• Assist with activities of daily living and feeding as needed.
• Provide ancillary client services per care plans or as directed by supervisor.
• Facilitate special care and respite services for clients with impairments.

The Opportunity

Position Title: Residential Care Aide

Location: Takla

Employment Type: Part-Time; 35 hours biweekly

What You’ll Do

As our Residential Care Aide, you will make a meaningful difference in the everyday lives of Elders and community members, helping them maintain dignity, independence, and connection to what matters most. This is an opportunity to build trusted relationships and offer comfort during vulnerable moments all while practicing cultural humility.

• Provide personal care services such as: personal hygiene, dressing and grooming, shower/ bathing, companion care, mobility assistance and respite services.
• Assist with activities of daily living. May include feeding, bowel and bladder care.
• Provide ancillary client services, as identified in client care plans or as directed by your supervisor.
• Facilitate special care/ respite services for clients diagnosed with physical, psychological, or mental impairments.

What You Will Bring to The Role

• Cultural humility.
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of Resident Care Certificate.
• Possession of a Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
• Possession of a Basic First Aid Certificate.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods course.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $28.42 to $36.81 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity
