Job summary

Carrier Sekani Family Services in Burns Lake, BC, is hiring a Family Preservation Worker for a full-time 35-hour work week. You will assess and plan for children and families connected with the MCFD and those needing additional support, delivering culturally safe services rooted in Indigenous health and wellness.

Qualifications include a Social Services Diploma with two years of experience or an education/experience mix.

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members and physicians to promote an inter-professional approach to standards of practice with a focus on team-based care.

The Opportunity

Position Title: Family Preservation Worker

Location: Burns Lake, BC

What You’ll Do

As our Family Preservation Worker, you will provide quality and accountable services to children and families who are involved with the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD) and those requiring extra support. This program is responsible for the development and implementation of individual, community, family and cultural health and wellness prevention programming.

• Perform assessments, implement goal plans and collect data and charting on progress
• Develop community programming based on demonstrated need and program objectives as outlined in funding contracts, community plans and individual goal plans. Provides services to clients supported by evidence, research and multidiscipline expertise on the wide range of health, social, and program specific issues related to health care services within First Nation communities and CSFS clinics.
• Collaborates with other multidisciplinary team members and physicians to facilitate an inter-professional approach to standards of practice with a focus on promoting team-based care.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $32.85 to $42.54 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity
