Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Resident Programs Aide to develop, implement, and evaluate activities meeting residents’ physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will assess needs, plan one-to-one and group activities, and ensure proper documentation and safety compliance.

The role requires flex hours including some evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a base compensation and total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Proof of degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation for diverse resident needs.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Current CPR and Emergency First Aid & satisfactory criminal reference check.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate diversified programs for residents.
• Identify and assess resident needs to develop activities.
• Set up and assist with transporting residents to programs.
• Participate in care conferences and education programs.
• Encourage resident participation and provide one-to-one support.
• Maintain resident records and documentation.
