Realstar is seeking a Resident Manager to live on-site at our Peterborough property. The role requires residence on-site, four weekdays, every second weekend, and on-call some evenings. This is an existing vacant position within the organization.

You will handle customer service, building maintenance coordination, and general office tasks while promoting a welcoming community. Benefits include an apartment suite and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Previous or similar property management experience an asset.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to perform general cleaning duties, and minor maintenance repairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push and move objects exceeding 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner

General Cleaning:

• Maintain cleanliness of all common areas including foyers, amenity rooms, underground parking garage, locker rooms, patios, and rooftops
• Knowledge and safe handling of cleaning chemicals
• Perform thorough cleaning of vacant units, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchens, washrooms, and balconies, ensuring they are move-in ready
• Dust fire hose cabinets, bells and elevator tracks to minimize excess debris
• Monitor and clean of garbage chutes, garbage and recycling rooms
• Collection of garbage and recycling bins in coordination with the city waste schedule
• Knowledge and understanding of the safe handling of cleaning materials (WHMIS)
• Conduct yard maintenance, including picking up loose garbage around the exterior of the property, removing snow and ice, salting entrances, walkways, and rooftop walkways

Property Maintenance:

• Assist residents how to complete maintenance requests through the proper channels
• Daily walkthroughs of each floor, stairwell, and common areas fixing minor deficiencies
• Report serious deficiencies related to curb appeal or safety hazards to the direct supervisor for further action
• Assist the supervisor in HVAC monitoring, troubleshooting minor electrical, plumbing, boiler & chiller maintenance
• Assist the supervisor with scheduling and overseeing repair activities of tradesmen and contractors as required
