Job summary

Bevan Enterprises is seeking a dependable and responsible Resident Manager to oversee day-to-day cleanliness, safety, and operation of an apartment building in Charlottetown, PEI.

The role acts as the tenant contact, ensures a welcoming environment, and supports the Property Manager with maintenance, snow removal, and basic repairs. On-site duties may require evening or weekend hours during heavy snowfall or emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Previous cleaning, maintenance, caretaking, property management, or customer service experience is an asset.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean property.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, walking, standing, and shovelling snow.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic maintenance and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to occasional building-related issues outside regular working hours.
  • A valid driver’s licence is an asset.
  • Vulnerable sector or criminal record check may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain common areas, including entrances, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, garbage areas, and other shared spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect as required.
  • Remove garbage and recycling and maintain clean garbage storage areas.
  • Perform snow shoveling and salting of entrances, walkways, stairs, and other high-traffic areas.
  • Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including lawn care, leaf removal, and general outdoor clean‑up.
  • Monitor the building and report maintenance issues, damage, leaks, safety concerns, or unusual activity to management.
  • Complete basic maintenance tasks where appropriate, such as changing light bulbs, replacing batteries, tightening hardware, and minor repairs.
  • Coordinate access for contractors, tradespeople, inspections, and service providers when required.
  • Help prepare vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning and reporting deficiencies.
  • Respond to tenant questions and concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Communicate important tenant issues to the Property Manager.
  • Help enforce building rules and promote a respectful living environment.
  • Monitor common areas for cleanliness, damage, unauthorized activity, and potential safety hazards.
  • Assist with emergency situations, including water leaks, power outages, fire alarms, and other building‑related incidents.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect tenants’ privacy.
  • Complete regular building inspections and maintain cleaning or maintenance checklists.
  • Perform other reasonable duties related to the operation and upkeep of the property.

Position Summary

The Resident Manager will serve as a point of contact for tenants and will help ensure the building and surrounding property are clean, safe, well-maintained, and welcoming.
